Happy With His Ironwood

This email is being published with the permission of Mr. Russell Evans.

I ordered an ironwood staff from your company, which I received today. I had placed the order from your website, and in the notes section briefly described my specs . . . I want to thank you and your company for surpassing my already high expectations.

I decided to place the order for the basic ironwood staff before I ordered the Safari or another model, to make sure the quality and customer service were as good as I'd hoped for, as I'd never seen your staffs except online. I am absolutely delighted with the staff. It is exactly what I'd hoped for and asked for.

The high quality of the work and the first-rate customer service is nothing less than refreshing in today's business world, and you and your team have gained a loyal customer. I will also be spreading the word to others I know, (and those I will meet on the trail), as to where to get the very finest hiking sticks made, and the assurance that they will be able to order with complete confidence that they are dealing with the very best people in the business.

With sincere thanks and appreciation,

Russell Evans

2010

The beginning of a new year is always an exciting time here at Brazos Walking Sticks. Each January we like to look ahead, anticipate what the year might hold, and think about ways to improve our walking stick business: everything from production and sales improvements to website maintenance and new product introductions.

As always, we're here for you, our customers, and we'd love to know what you think of your walking stick or cane, or answer any questions you might have. Please shoot us an email to info@brazossticks.com.

Now, here are some reasons you may want to buy a stick or cane from Brazos Walking Sticks in 2010:
  • With years upon years of woodworking experience, we feel that we offer the best variety and quality of anyone in the business
  • All of our products are made right here in Texas by our skilled craftsmen
  • While we're not perfect, we do strive to have superior customer service
  • We stand behind our products and guarantee them from defects or other manufacturing issues
The list could go on and on, but I think I'll leave it at that for now. Thanks for making 2009 a great year for us, and we look forward to 2010!

Merry Christmas!

We're about to shut down our operation here for the Christmas holiday, and we'd like to wish everyone out there a Merry Christmas.

If You Want Any Chance Of Getting Your Order By Christmas ...

... you'll want to order with at least 2-Day, but possibly Overnight, delivery. Keep in mind that UPS is making no more guarantees, even on expedited shipping options.

Expedited Orders

At this point if you place an order and you want to have it by Christmas, your best option is to choose 2-Day or Overnight expedited shipping. Keep in mind, however, that UPS is not guaranteeing delivery for any shipping method, even overnight deliveries.

For our part, on Monday we'll make every effort to ship every order that comes in over the weekend, and we'll take extra care to make sure that orders with expedited shipping are handled immediately.

No More Guarantees, But You May Still Have Time To Order For Christmas

Click walking sticks to go back to Brazos Walking Sticks' home page.

As of today, Friday, Dec. 18, there are no longer UPS guarantees for delivery by Christmas. In most cases, however, placing your order with 2-Day or Overnight delivery will still get you your order by Dec. 24, but it is no longer guaranteed (please note that UPS does not deliver on the 25th and only delivers Overnight and 2-Day packages on the 24th).

Since we ship out of Texas, many people in Texas and adjacent states may still want to choose standard UPS ground delivery and those customers may get their order in-hand by the 22nd or 23rd, but at this point forward nothing is guaranteed with UPS.

Christmas Order Delivery Time Update

Click walking sticks to go back to Brazos Walking Sticks' home page.

As of Thursday, Dec. 17, customers in Alaska, Hawaii, California, Nevada, Oregon, Washington, west Idaho, west Montana, north Michigan, New York, and all states northeast of New York, may want to choose 2-Day Expedited shipping in order to ensure that their order is received by Christmas Eve (UPS does not deliver on Christmas Day, and UPS is only delivering 2-Day and Overnight packages on Christmas Eve). Customers in the aforementioned areas will not be guaranteed to receive their orders by Dec. 24 if they choose standard UPS ground or 3-Day shipping.

Please note that as of Dec. 11, UPS no longer guarantees delivery before Christmas for standard ground shipping or for 3-Day Expedited shipping. The standard UPS guarantees will still be in effect, however, for 2-Day Air and Next Day Air options until Dec. 21. On Dec. 21, UPS will no longer guarantee delivery time for any shipping method, though, in most cases, packages should arrive by Christmas Eve if the proper shipment method (e.g. 2-Day Air) has been chosen.

Currently, most orders (even accessorized orders) will be shipping out within one or two business days as we work to fulfill all of our holiday orders in time for Christmas.

Can I Expedite My Shipping?

Yes. As of right now, Dec. 15, UPS is still guaranteeing 2-Day and Overnight expedited shipping. Of course, that guarantees in how many business days you'll receive your stick once it has shipped from our facility. In most cases sticks are shipped from our facility within two to five business days, but we are making every effort now to get orders out within two business days -- or sooner.

So keep the orders coming!
:-)

Christmas Order Delivery Time

Click walking sticks to go back to Brazos Walking Sticks' home page.

We're making every effort to ship Christmas orders in a timely manner. In many cases we're able to ship orders out the day we receive them, or the next business day. To ensure prompt delivery of an item after it has shipped from our facility, customers may want to choose 3-Day Expedited, 2-Day Air, or Next Day Air shipping.

For questions about shipping or other Christmas orders, please email us at info@brazossticks.com or give us a call.

Not A Good Way To Use A Walking Stick

In 1856 Senator Charles Sumner of Massachusetts was beaten repeatedly with a metal-knobbed walking cane. The attacker -- a South Carolina congressman named Preston Brooks -- whacked Sumner into unconsciousness over the course of a "long minute," and then calmly walked away. The motivation behind the attack was an anti-slavery senatorial address directed toward Brooks' pro-slavery kinsman, Senator Andrew Butler of South Carolina.

After the beating Brooks was promptly censured by the House of Representatives, and, shortly thereafter, died at only 37. Sumner, on the other hand, recovered from the attack and served another 18 years in the Senate.

The infamous beating was certainly a low point in the pre-Civil War period of United States history. One lesson learned: no matter what raises your ire, the proper use of a Brazos Walking Stick -- or any walking stick for that matter -- is for walking support!
